Charlotte Smith
Pre-Licensed Therapist
(She/Her)
As a therapist, I'm an empathetic and passionate listener who provides a safe and comfortable space for you to explore, process, and build your life. My work has spanned across different ages and stages of life while my primary focus is on older adolescents (15+) and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, shame, self-esteem, trauma, and numbing/intellectualizing feelings.
I use a wide variety of strategies including:
Talking through challenges and emotions around life stresses/events while reprogramming the automatic negative thoughts that drag you down (CBT: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy).
Learning and using skills for emotional regulation, challenging unhelpful patterns, grounding yourself more in the moment than your thoughts, and communicating/boundaries with the important people in your life (DBT: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy).
Processing trauma and emotions through eye positions that help us release the memories, thoughts, and feelings that are stuck without having to talk about it (Brainspotting).
I'm a humorous and laid-back person ready to dive into whatever feels right for you while also being a guide if you need it. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, sewing/crafting, watching anime, being in musicals, drinking tea, spending too much time on TikTok, and hanging out at the lake up north with family.
