Alicia Johnson

Pre-Licensed Therapist

She/Her

Hello and welcome!

Living in today’s world is challenging, and taking the first step towards bettering ourselves can be even more challenging. Let’s be honest: counseling can seem intimidating. However, I strive to create a safe, inviting, non-judgmental environment. Therapy is beneficial for everyone! It is a great way to improve problem-solving skills, build confidence, and work through conflict/trauma.

What to expect…

I take an integrative therapeutic approach and place great importance on the therapeutic relationship—I want you to trust me. This means examining each client’s challenges and utilizing techniques from various therapeutic orientations to create a plan uniquely tailored to that client.

Special interests and experience…

I completed a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University and am currently pursuing licensure to obtain my LPCC.

I also work as a birthing and postpartum doula. This experience has made me incredibly passionate about the mental and physical stages of the prenatal and postpartum periods, reproductive mental health, infertility, loss, and birth trauma. I also enjoy working with clients who have mood disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, disordered eating, body image and self-esteem, sexual assault, trauma, and attachment issues. Trauma affects each client differently, so identifying and processing those experiences is crucial.

Clinical approaches…

Person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy.

About Me…

When I am not in the office, I love educating and supporting my doula clients before, during, and after birth! Outside of that, my husband and I also enjoy trying new restaurants, being outdoors, and spending quality time together as a family of three.
