Jenny J’Creo, MA, LADC

Licensed Alcohol + Drug Counselor + Pre-Licensed Therapist

she/her/hers LGBTQ+

I have been a drug and alcohol counselor for the last eleven years and have had the privilege of witnessing and supporting many people across their healing journey. While helping people with addictions it became clear to me that addictions are born out of difficult circumstances, past traumas, relationship issues, and every other emotional and mental health struggle, so I went back to school for my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and am now helping individuals with addictions and/or mental health issues. I am comfortable working with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families, especially where addiction is concerned.

I believe everyone has the capacity to change, and I strive to provide a non-judgmental, empathetic, safe space where trust, healing, and change can occur. I work through a trauma-informed lens and have years of experience teaching Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychoeducation on addiction, self-worth, depression, anxiety, ADHD, interpersonal relationships, codependence, emotion regulation skills, harmful core beliefs, attachment styles, grief/loss, and more. While working with addiction I had clients of all ages, races, and cultures and I understand that your background is essential in how you experience your environment. I also bring years of personal experience to my clients. After being in a heterosexual marriage and raising three children, I came out late in life, deconstructed my faith, got divorced, and widened my lens on spirituality. I still believe that churches, synagogues, and mosques can be good resources for morals, values, community and support, but I also see how religious beliefs can hinder people from living their true identities. Everyone has a unique journey, and I love helping people find their most authentic selves.

My experience allows me an openness to all lifestyles and backgrounds, and it is a joy for me to see people discover who they are and make changes to live the life they choose. If you think we might be a good fit, or you have any questions about how I can help you, please reach out to me and I look forward to hearing from you!
